LEVEL 33 ENTERTAINMENT ACQUIRES SLAMDANCE

AUDIENCE AWARD WINNER

Los Angeles, Calif. (March 28, 2011) - Level 33 Entertainment announced today that is has acquired the North American digital rights to the Slamdance Film Festival Audience Award Winner ‘PUNCHING THE CLOWN’ starring comedian-singer-songwriter Henry Phillips.

The film was co-written (with Phillips) and directed by Gregori Viens and will receive a 2011 release across all digital platforms.

Hailed by comedy icon Sarah Silverman as “the best comedy I’ve seen so far…” and The NY Post says “See his movie now, brag about your discerning taste for undiscovered talent later.”

‘Punching the Clown’ is an uproarious and smart comedy that tells the story of Henry Phillips, a hapless modern day troubadour whose luck changes overnight thanks to a wild case of mistaken identity. Suddenly he falls backwards into a string of packed gigs, a record deal and even the promise of love. Luckily, somewhere between rock bottom and nowhere lays the perfect terrain for his dark and hilarious songs.

“Henry Phillips is a comic genius and we’re so excited to help bring his brand of humor to his ever-growing number of fans.” said Sheldon Brigman, EVP of Level 33 Entertainment. “This movie is what we live for…an undiscovered diamond in the rough.”

Recent Level 33 releases include the scout camp comedy ‘SCOUTS HONOR: BADGE TO THE BONE’ starring funnymen Chris Kattan (SNL) and Fred Willard (Anchorman) and the fast becoming cult classic ‘AAAH! ZOMBIES!!’. Upcoming films include Cedric ‘The Entertainer’s comedy ‘DANCE FU’.
